HOWL Story Slam: All in a Day’s Work

Adirondack Center for Writing’s first writing festival was indeed  phenomenal. They capped off the event with a HOWL Story Slam on Saturday night.

While I did not win (or even place), I got positive feedback from event organizers and audience members (including my ninth-grade English teacher who decided to attend at the last minute). 

The HOWL theme: All in a Day’s Work. The rules: five minutes max and no notes. This story is adapted from the essay I published in Oh Reader earlier this summer; I revised it to fit the stage:
