The Post-Traumatic Growth Presentation

This is a presentation to showcase the steps I’ve taken to integrate the devastating loss of my teen son to suicide into my life, including the complexity of my professional experience as a mental health clinician. I also call this slideshow and discussion What to Do When Something Bad Happens to You.

Like many left behind by suicide, the shock of my son’s death was incredibly overwhelming; my career in counseling made the initial days and months feel as though I was boiling in a stew of incompetence. I turned my skills inward and sought out a path of post-traumatic growth.

I look forward to sharing what I’ve learned with others. Strength is all about recognizing and embracing the multi-layers of loss and accessing resources to develop resiliency.

This program has two versions: one for people aged 10-14 and another for older teens/adults.

Details: $75/90 mins.

Join me on Tuesday, June 11 at 7 p.m. for an interview-style presentation at the Amos & Julia Ward Theater in Jay, NY. This event is FREE & OPEN to the public.
